Jokes & Jazz IV at UKZN Centre for Jazz and Popular Music
SA’s premier comedy and jazz series Jokes & Jazz IV was at the UKZN Centre for Jazz and Popular Music this week.
Hosted by comedian Troy Tesla, the 90-minute slot is one of the best rated and best attended entertainment experiences in Durban.
Fresh from his Johannesburg and Cape Town tours with acts such as John Vlismas and Rob Van Vuuren, Tesla anchored a fresh line-up.
Comedians included Leah Jasmine - queen of woke comedy and recent finalist at the Kill or Die Comedy Competition; and Daryl Williams - a sought after Durban star. Also featured were Shannon Rice, Maxamilion and newcomer, Nabeer Peel.
The guest artist was Zah Nkwenkwezi - a bilingual poet and pioneer of the Durban poetry industry, while music was provided by UKZN School of Arts students.
